The United Nations, founded in 1945, first began issuing postage stamps in 1951. Kiehn's MEMPHEX 2018 exhibit displayed stamps and other philatelic items issued by the United Nations and selected member nations including UN “first issue” stamps, anniversary stamps and stamps issued to commemorate the anniversary of the founding of the UN.

The Memphis Stamp Collectors Society (MSCS) hosted the Memphis Philatelic Exhibition, or MEMPHEX, at the Agricenter, Memphis, TN on Sept 28th and Sept 29th, 2019. The exhibition ran for two days and featured judged stamp exhibits, and multiple dealers selling stamps. There were more dealers than formerly, and the expanded space was appreciated by all.

Andy Burkman – Received both 2018 Gold and Best of Show for his exhibit titled” The Clipper Air Mail Service in the Philippines – 1935 to 1941.” A Collection of Flown Covers. – 2 frames.
Clipper Airmail - 1939 Airmail from Santa Cruz, Zambales to Ancon, Canal Zone. The 1 Peso, 30 Centavo postage paid the combined Air Mail rates from the Philippines to the U.S. and from the U.S. to the Canal Zone.

Bartlett Rivercrest Elementary School - received both Junior Class Award and Novice Award for the single frame exhibit by the 5th grade children, sponsored by Karla Norman. The subject was “Around the World with International Stamps” and a portion of the exhibit is shown below.
